Researchers from the Hollings Cancer Center at the Medical University (MUSC) of South Carolina have won a $1.4 million grant from the US Department of Defense to enhance breast cancer research at MUSC. This four-year grant pairs researchers from Hollings and renowned Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and will establish a training program at MUSC called BRIDGE – Breast Cancer Research Initiative for Developing Growth and Education. The grant will enable young investigators from MUSC to be closely mentored by scientists from MUSC and Baylor College of Medicine, which is internationally-recognized for breast cancer research.
