Bike Rodeo and Safety Fair

The 5th Annual Bike Rodeo and Safety Fair is a fantastic family fun event centered on childhood injury prevention that partners with the North Charleston Fire Museum and MUSC Children’s Hospital. This year’s event celebrated not only the 5th year anniversary of the Fire Museum, but also hosted this year’s National Firemen’s Challenge. Bike safety includes helmets
The goal of our event is to educate the parents and children in the Tri-County area about safety at home, at play and on the way. This year’s event supplied 400 bike helmets to the community and hosted several booths with safety education information. Additional festivities included face painting, jump castles, a climbing wall, and a bike rental. Children could bring in their own bike for a tune up and ride through the Safety City Bike Rodeo.adult
The 5th Annual Bike Rodeo and Safety Fair was a huge success hosting over 1000 participants on Saturday May 19th. The event was planned by MUSC Children’s Hospital Injury Prevention Coordinator/ Safe Kids Coordinator, Maudra Rogers and supported through the Pediatric Trauma Services department. The event as well as the team received great feedback from the community, participants, and local and national vendors on its success.
